How Suzanne Lucero Went From Hospice Nurse to Holistic Entrepreneur by Awakening People’s Hearts

Posted by Jade Marvin on 9/22/22 4:00 PM

Just before I enrolled, due to a near-death experience, I began going through a transformational spiritual awakening. I was confused by all the personal changes I was experiencing. I knew I wanted to do something, yet I did not know what or where to begin. I was a certified nursing assistant in the Hospice field for 24 years. I was divinely guided to help people in a new way. The divine message I received was to awaken people's hearts. Then I found SWIHA and enrolled. The adviser helped to point me in the direction of Hypnotherapy. The Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program with a focus in Hypnotherapy taught me the tools I didn't even know I needed for my own self-healing. As I went through the program, I underwent my own healing journey and came out as the best version of myself. I now have the confidence that I will only get better and better from here.”

SWIHA Student, Lizzy Hemmerle aka The Feel Good Mother, Helps Others on Their Journey to ‘Feel-Good’ Living

Posted by Elizabeth Hemmerle on 8/25/22 4:00 PM

I have been on the journey of entrepreneurship for almost 5 years before beginning my path at SWIHA as an Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner student. After bringing my daughter into this world, Ella Rae, my mother, and I started a skin, soul, self-care business: Dragonfly co., and our mission has been to create “products you can feel good about.” Through the years, I felt the call in my heart to expand this mission. I knew that feeling good was about more than just looking good. It prompted me to create and coin the term: ‘feel-good living” ((soon to be trademarked!)) While moving through my own life experiences of separation, loss, and transition — I became wholeheartedly committed to setting out on the journey of discovering what ‘feel-good living’ actually is. My partner, daughter, and I moved out to Arizona, on a whim or what I feel was a divine call, in January of 2022. Shortly after, I discovered SWIHA, randomly and unintentionally. Through this journey of defining ‘feel-good living,’ SWIHA is providing a safe container for me to fully embody and explore every layer of this lifestyle.

Mindset over Matter: How Jami Papenberg Followed Her Heart & Light

Posted by Jade Marvin on 5/12/22 4:00 PM

I had settled into a comfort zone before SWIHA. Back in 2008, I decided I wanted to become a massage therapist, and I wanted to get out of the Midwest and start my life over in Arizona. I bought a plane ticket and scheduled a tour of SWIHA, then met a guy who wanted me to stay in the Midwest. I took the trip, toured the school, and really liked it, yet I let that guy talk me into staying and going to massage school in St. Louis, closer to home. We divorced in 2018 -- turns out living someone else's dream doesn't lead to much happiness. Over the years I've become passionate about mental health, from healing from the traumatic birth of my son in 2011 to navigating divorce, and seeing how my massage clients could gain so much more healing if they worked on their emotional health as much as they worked on their physical health. I had my eye on life coaching, and what popped up on my first Google search was SWIHA! Things came full circle, and I took it as a sign.”

"Keep taking time for yourself until you are you again." -Lalah Delia

A Look into our Self Love Journey:

The fact is that it is a "YOU VS YOU "battle in this life. So get it in your head that no one is coming to SAVE US EXCEPT US.

During my journey, I'm learning that the most critical part is to stop being a people pleaser and living life like everyone else matters except you because you do matter. Knowing that taking care of your needs first is essential, knowing that your feelings matter.

The Power of Inner-Knowing: Fran-Kay Moseley Helps Women Connect With Themselves

Trust your heart and embrace the journey. You may make a wrong turn, however, your heart will get you back on the right path. Just keep making choices and don’t second guess yourself.” - E’yen A. Gardner

Fran-kay, like many others who came to SWIHA, wanted to find her purpose in life and help others along the way. Fran-Kay came from a humble background. She states, “Both of my parents were uneducated and I was told at a young age that education wasn’t important. That as long as I learned a trade, I would be satisfied. Well, I felt robbed. I self-taught myself, and even though I may not have a college degree, I am very wise and love learning new things…” And that is exactly what Fran-Kay did here at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Fran-Kay learned to trust her intuition, stop second-guessing herself, and how to fulfill her life dream of helping others.

Hypnotherapist Michelle Brown’s calling to Holistic Healing: A Journey of Overcoming

Posted by Jade Marvin on 3/24/22 4:00 PM

It was all about taking the leap of faith. It said that the fear that stops us from doing what we really want, is often not based on reality. We shape our fears in our heads, yet things are so much easier than we think.” - Effrosyni Moschoudi, The Flow

Life can often give us a bad hand, and we try out best to navigate through it. It can often be compared to a valley, with high highs and low lows. With the right energy and motivation, we can lift ourselves out of these hardships, and into what we were born to do. Great Graduate, Michelle Brown, of the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program, has done just that. Michelle describes some of the hardships she had to go through to get her to SWIHA, and how her life has drastically changed since she made the decision to enroll.

My Day with Michael

Posted by Kristy McCarty on 9/9/21 4:00 PM

A spiritual awakening is the process of learning who we truly are through a vibratory connection that permeates us all. This awakening can feel different for each individual and come in stages as the person experiencing the shedding of their ego-self can slowly lose their identity of who they believe themselves to be and reconnect to the whole that is. When we do this, we have the unique ability to understand ourselves as well as others and raise what some believe to be the collective consciousness. A spiritual awakening is a personal experience that allows full connection with Prana, God, Source, Gaia, Yahweh, Allah, as well as many other names that have developed from the human language to describe what is utterly indescribable. What about the opposite side of that universal coin and the loss of that oneness that we crave? A spiritual death is something entirely different as it consumes and eats away at the wholeness we once had as a young innocent child. Spiritual death can occur when the spirit has undergone traumatic experiences, abuse, addiction, loss, or anything that slowly depletes our soul.

Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.” - N.R. Walker

When Michelle Runnion, Great Graduate of the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner Program, decided to overcome her fears and tribulations, her healing journey truly began and the spark of passion for healing others ignited. Michelle asserts, “I have struggled with anxiety and agoraphobia for the majority of my life. When I decided that I wanted to heal myself so that I have a better life and heal others is when I felt reborn. I have pushed myself to do things that once were too scary to do. In the process, I realized that I am a Light Warrior. The two choices were to get sucked in by the darkness or to live through love and light. Here I am, shining bright and ready to share my love for my passions with others.

Posted by Jade Marvin on 7/29/21 4:00 PM

We all have secrets we keep locked away from the rest of the world. Friendships we pretend. Relationships we hide. Worst of all is the love we never let show; the most dangerous secret a person can bury are those we keep from ourselves.” - Kevin McCarty

Candice Lee, a graduate from the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program, at the age of 25, finally began to listen to the parts of herself she could no longer ignore. The parts of herself she had kept locked away, she finally dealt with. Her journey at SWIHA gave her the keys so that she could unlock those doors and finally make a change in her own life and the lives of others.

Like many who are led to Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, Kay Rose Miller was focused on fulfilling her purpose in life and determined to find a career she felt passionately about. “I was led to SWIHA after I meditated and used my pendulum to clear my mind of whether or not I wanted to enroll in classes at a local university for my Bachelor in psychology,” she tells us, “I found that was not what I wanted to do anymore.”

Kay Rose realized she was feeling a tug to do something holistic & to be of service to others and enrolled in the online Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner diploma program. Despite not being on campus, Kay Rose found a sense of community with her classmates by connecting virtually.
