The Healing Arts Fall Festival, previously known as the Holistic Health Gathering, is a complimentary, community, family-friendly celebration of yoga, healing arts modalities, and UNITY! SWIHA invites you to join us for a full day of yoga classes, meditation, sound healing, a massage championship, and over 50 vendors! Bring your entire family to enjoy the Kids Camp Collaboration with Luna Mind Body Spirit, who will be hosting kids yoga, a somatic kids experience, a bouncy house, and face painting. This full day of activities is open to anyone and everyone! Come be a part of our conscious community.

Stories have been used in every culture, every language, to connect us to a larger self and universal truths. Whether they are myths, songs, paintings, or traditions, storytelling helps form a common goal, honor sacrifices, and pass down knowledge. They also have the ability to transport us to another time, place, or body and allow us to empathize with an experience we’ve never had.

There are two pretty amazing women who are leaving quite a legacy by capturing the stories of hundreds of women of all ages in a series of books. Living Brave...Finishing Strong is the fourth book of the Living Brave series by Dr. Hilda Villaverde and Mary Beth Stern.

The Message of Easter Is A.M.E.N

Their world felt uneasy.  The normal pace and cadence of their lives were replaced with furtive looks and anguished disbelief mixed with panicked wonderment.   Everything seemed to have changed in an instant without warning, and now, there was no telling when it would return to the familiar and constant.    Does this description sound like your world today?

This is the description of the City of Jerusalem during the Week of Passover when Jesus the Christ was presented as the Passover Lamb.  Those who were Christ-followers were shaking their heads in disbelief wondering, “Was this same man who performed miracles right before our eyes who now, seemingly unrecognizable, is standing before us as in complete vulnerability?”

This Saturday, Southwest Institute of Healing Arts is holding a celebration of Mind, Body and Spirit on the greenbelt next our campuses. This will be the twenty-third year that SWIHA has hosted the Holistic Health Gathering, and will also mark one year at our main campus’ new location! There is no charge to attend and this event is open to the public.

Three Ways To Center Yourself Before Speaking to a Crowd

Maybe you dream of giving your own Ted Talk, motivating others to follow their dreams, or speaking at a professional convention about your area of expertise. There’s one inevitable piece of the puzzle for those with a message to share: public speaking.

The thought strikes fear in to many, and it’s understandable! However, once you become comfortable talking in front of larger groups, you will more easily connect to smaller groups and within your personal relationships. Public speaking will help uncover a deeper part of yourself, making you more authentic and interesting on and off stage.

If you make a point to center yourself before stepping on stage, you may just have the time of your life!
