“Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day-in, day-out. And working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it’s a marathon, not a sprint.” - Dr. Angela Lee Duckworth
Great Graduate Jessica Loupe graduated from SWIHA’s Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner Program with an emphasis in Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching. Jessica asserts, “I could not be happier that I decided to take these courses through the IHAP program! I am so grateful to have joined SWIHA. I would not be where I am today if it were not for this school. SWIHA has made me realize that my dreams can be turned into goals, and my goals turned into reality. My future goal is to create a holistic retreat center, where anyone can go to easily get any holistic service available. I give myself 5-7 years to make this a reality, follow me on my journey!”

“We all have secrets we keep locked away from the rest of the world. Friendships we pretend. Relationships we hide. Worst of all is the love we never let show; the most dangerous secret a person can bury are those we keep from ourselves.” - Kevin McCarty
Candice Lee, a graduate from the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program, at the age of 25, finally began to listen to the parts of herself she could no longer ignore. The parts of herself she had kept locked away, she finally dealt with. Her journey at SWIHA gave her the keys so that she could unlock those doors and finally make a change in her own life and the lives of others.

“There is no greater time than now to experience the full power of your potential. Make this the day you take the first step in the beautiful journey of bringing your dreams to life.” - Dr. Steve Maraboli
For Lindsay Morgan, a great graduate from the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program, her journey at SWIHA allowed her to realize her full potential, which unlocked her ability and willpower to do more than she had previously thought possible. Lindsay expresses, “The hardest part is showing up, but when you do it will all be worth it. You are more capable than you know and trust whatever happens is meant to be”.

“Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible”. - Mandy Hale
Timing is everything. For our great graduate Lourdes Menendez, in April of 2019, had a spiritual enlightenment that eventually led her on the path to SWIHA. “On that day, a master spirit connected with me while I was working my shift as Medicaid Advocate for a local hospital. I heard a man's voice whispering "Hypnosis Class" she tells us, “I knew I was on the right path when I received the Brochures and Pamphlets from SWIHA. By touching the paper I felt positive energy. I recalled telling my husband: ‘How sad I feel for not finding this school ten years ago’ and my husband said ‘Ten years ago was not the time; the time is now’.”

“Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn to. They are often connected to your path, passion, and purpose in life. Have the courage to follow them” - Ruben Chavez
Through life's trials and tribulations, it is easy to want to give up or simply move on. To diverge from the path in front of you. It is difficult for many to stay on the path they were destined for or to pave their own path that will ultimately lead to their success and happiness in life. Jamey Martell came from a not-so-easy life that eventually led her to SWIHA. For Jamey, she was able to push through many of life's curve balls. Jamey Martell is a unique and strong graduate from SWIHA who is ready to share her story and help others along the way.

When we look for guidance, we often look outside of ourselves for answers or to feel complete. We may feel unworthy or unprepared for answering our own questions, when in reality, the answer was within ourselves all along. Being in tune with oneself is a hard skill to master, yet a necessary one to be able to gain clarity through life’s hardships. When we draw awareness inwards and practice the art of mindfulness, we can then begin to feel supported and at peace. Like any relationship, the one we have with ourselves takes time to nourish and thrive.

We all get asked the big question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” For many, this question stays unanswered for a long time. For others, they seem to have it all figured out. The answer to this question comes at different points in life for people, and that’s okay. Your path does not have to follow a certain timeline. For Amanda Shaffie, Life Coaching was always built in for her. She asserts, “I have always enjoyed the investment in others and helping to clear a path for those to meet new opportunities and challenges that further their quality of living”.
Amanda Shaffie already had an established practice, Amanda Shaffie Life Coaching, and felt the need to continue her education, which ultimately led her to SWIHA. Amanda states, “I was curious if my methods could be expanded. With many people feeling more at ease with an accredited formal type of training, I decided to go for it. And I am glad I did”.

“I have grown in more ways than one, I have a new appreciation for my life and my experiences. I am forever grateful for the SWIHA community,” Rocio Castellanos, a graduate of the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner diploma, program tells us, “Even though I was an online student I felt I was always ‘there’.”
Prior to her journey at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, Rocio had worked in the healthcare field for twelve years as a Respiratory Therapist. “I have to say that I wish I had had this training when I was working in the medical field because it would have helped me be of better service to my patients,” she discloses, “Not that I wasn't, however, I know the skills I now have would have benefitted my patients even more.”

Pamela Borowoski once had a long struggle with both her self-worth and spirituality. She tells us: “In my younger days when I followed a different religious path, I attended Bible College and went on to become a local and overseas missionary and I thought that, since I was no longer in that faith, that I'd never find a spiritual calling like I had before.“
As she began the slow process of healing from her traumas and heartaches, she focused her energy on her family. Yet, she still found herself barely getting by.
“I was disabled,” Pamela shares, “I was so anxious and depressed I could not drive. I barely left the house. I was in pain physically, emotionally and spiritually.”

“Though I reside in Wisconsin and SWIHA is a distance from me, I know my people are out there,” Jamie Reklau says with a full heart.
From an early age, Jamie has loved to build others confidence, offer wisdom and lend an ear when needed. She tells us: “During my junior high school years, I passed around a notebook and started a ‘Dear Jamie’ column. I had passion, even back then, to offer new ideas and do whatever I could to assist my classmates to have a better life.”
However, as she navigated adulthood, she realized that she had shut herself off from her authenticity: “I felt like I was not allowed to be my genuine self,” says Jamie, “I lived a highly traumatic life. I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury and lived most of my life feeling like I could never accomplish anything meaningful. My mindset was that it wasn't in the cards for me.”
