How ReNae Ione Empowers Others to Love Themselves, Love Others, and Love their LIFE!

Posted by Jasper Marie on 1/10/24 8:00 AM

“I've always loved to serve others, to help them see their own possibilities, to find the courage within to become the version of themselves they wish to be. Seeing that happen for them lights me up, warms my heart, and inspires me to keep going.”

ReNae's decision to choose SWIHA was driven by a multitude of factors that resonated with her on a deep level. The vibrant atmosphere drew her in immediately. What set SWIHA apart for ReNae was not only the flexibility of class hours, it was also the unique opportunity to "try out" classes with a guest pass, coupled with the option to audit classes for a refresher—a perfect blend of accessibility and continuous learning that aligned with her vision.

What Led Rev. Fr. Justin Hurtado-Palomo to Study Transformational Life Coaching at SWIHA?

Posted by Rev. Fr. Justin Hurtado-Palomo on 1/8/24 8:00 AM

As an alumni, I wanted to share a response of mine that I gave in a recent interview. The question was “Why did you choose transformational life coaching at SWIHA?” Here is my response, “Thank you for your thoughtful question. My journey toward the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and to transformational life coaching was not a straight path, it was a winding road, full of learning experiences, self-discovery, and a deepening of my faith.”

Diane’s Journey to Life Coaching

Before becoming a Life Coach, Diane Jones was working a normal 9 to 5 job that gave her no personal satisfaction or feeling of purpose. Diane knew she wanted to make a positive impact on the world and help those who want to live a better life and don’t have the tools to get there. The path became clear, and Diane came to SWIHA to gain the education to become a Life Coach. SWIHA quickly became a home away from home for Diane. Diane shares, “It felt like the home I needed! I felt welcomed every time I stepped onto the campus.

"I was seeking something that was the right fit for me, a school that had purpose, supportive staff and instructors, where I felt like I was a part of something great and SWIHA embodied all those things and more for me. Peace on Earth — Let it Begin with Me

Posted by KC Miller on 12/25/23 8:00 AM

A few weeks ago, I posted what I thought was an innocent plea, encouraging friends to “Pray for Israel”.  This post was motivated by the fact that two of our graduates and longtime teachers were in harm's way, living on the banks of the Jordan and being forced to flee their homes. The morning after making the post, I woke up to a heart-wrenching message from another graduate with a Palestinian heritage, asking why I took sides against her. My heart sank. As a result, I’ve embarked on a deep, soul-searching, and self-education journey as to how “peace on earth” could be possible. What I share here is part of my personal plan, summarized in the acronym of P.E.A.C.E.

How Eliza Zwolsky Saw the Signs to Study Herbalism and Reiki at SWIHA

Posted by Jade Marvin on 12/21/23 4:00 PM

I grew up using herbs and had wanted to become an herbal pharmacist. The training I was looking into was in China, and then life happened, and going was discouraged. Then in my second half of revolving around the Sun, I walked by SWIHA and noticed the sign that I never paid attention to, it said ‘Herbalism and Reiki’. I had just started a new chapter in life and finally saw what I needed to do to get on the path to my original plan A.”

From Europe to Arizona: Massage Therapist, Franchesca Booth, Helps Others Live a Pain-Free Life

Posted by Jade Marvin on 12/14/23 4:00 PM

I’ve been interested and involved in holistic health since the 80s. I lived overseas for several decades, was a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist, and started my own holistic health clinic before returning to the US. I attended SWIHA so the AZ board would recognize my European qualifications and medical massage experience. I firmly believe in helping others as naturally as possible so they may live pain-free.”

6 Simple Meal Prep Tips for Beginners with SWIHA Graduate Mercedes Umphenour

Posted by Mercedes Umphenour on 12/7/23 4:00 PM

We all feel the same way when we are told to eat better by our physicians. “It's too expensive” and “I don’t have time for that” are two of the most common responses when I have asked people about their barriers to eating better. These two answers are some of the most discouraging to our journey and our self-esteem because when we fail we tend to take it out on ourselves, the cost at the store, or even the people who are succeeding at what we are trying to do. So here I am as a mom of two, a wife, a caregiver who works out of the house, and family members in my home with specific dietary restrictions to tell you, it's OK. You can do it.  In the last 10 years of trying to meal prep (sometimes unsuccessfully) and in the 5 years of consistent meal prepping (minus a day or week where I’m just not feeling into it) I’ve learned these 6 tips.
