Health and Wellness Coach, Jaclyn Kutchinsky, Helps Women Reclaim their Health and Rediscover Themselves

Posted by Jade Marvin on 4/13/23 4:00 PM

Before SWIHA I was a very broken wife and mom, numbing the pain from past traumas with alcohol and just doing what I needed to do to make it through another day. My self-worth had dwindled over the years and I had invested so much of my time and energy into raising my family that I had forgotten who I was. I especially began to feel called to SWIHA when I finally got sober from alcohol in 2020. Mindfulness and intentionality became cornerstones of my newfound healing. The further along I got into my sobriety, the more clarity I had on the life that was truly meant for me. I knew I wanted to help facilitate the same type of healing for other women seeking shifts in their overall mind, body, and spirit. It's incredibly empowering to reclaim your own health and rediscover your true identity - and to be able to hold space for women who are seeking that kind of transformation is a huge gift.”

Health & Wellness Coach Priscilla Kreft Helps Women Replace Stress & Anxiety with Confidence & Self-love

Posted by Jade Marvin on 3/30/23 4:00 PM

For years, I have served as a resource to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started by journaling about my passions, thoughts, and wonderings about our world. I learned through reflection and introspection that I can't cruise through life without support, and neither can anyone else. I discovered that there is a profession around just that - holistically supporting humans!

Holistic Coach Janine McNiven Empowers Others to Live a Balanced Life with Whole foods, Grace, and Resilience

Posted by Jade Marvin on 3/28/23 4:00 PM

My life before SWIHA was very chaotic; I didn't have a lot of direction after leaving a high-demand religion. I struggled with mental health issues and found no sustainable solutions until I started to change my relationship with food, my body, spirituality, and myself. I started making some lifestyle changes on my own yet was hungry for more information on how to take care of myself, my mind, body, and spirit. When I found SWIHA, I felt really drawn to the holistic approach and how the balance of nutrition and mindfulness has a powerful effect on all three. I am passionate about holistic healing through food because the mind, body, and spirit are so interconnected and this is a great way to start discovering yourself and taking good, loving care of yourself.”

Enjoying the Entrepreneurial Journey

Posted by Chelle Baltzor on 2/23/23 4:00 PM

What is an entrepreneur? Oxford dictionary defines an entrepreneur as someone who makes money by starting or running businesses, especially when this involves taking financial risks.

Me? I say it's a dreamer who makes their dream a reality. An entrepreneur can be a seven-year-old girl who is holding a weekend bake sale and lemonade stand to earn money for that new Barbie Van so her dolls can tour the countryside of her backyard. The fourteen-year-old boy that mows lawns to save for that 1969 mustang when he turns sixteen. Even the fifty-year-old woman putting herself through school to start her practice and help guide women through mid-life because of the struggles she endures herself.

How Lourdes Menendez Accomplished Her Goals and Beyond with the Power of Intention

Posted by Jade Marvin on 1/20/23 8:00 AM

In honor of National Be On-Purpose Month, this January 2023, SWIHA Great Graduate and Healing Arts Practitioner Lourdes Menendez shares how intention and mindfulness show up in her life. Lourdes asserts, “Before SWIHA I had goals and purposes, however, I was not focused on how to continue living on purpose to achieve those goals. Then, the universe led me to SWIHA. I was randomly looking for a school to learn Hypnotherapy and an internal voice said ‘that one right there’ exactly when I was reading SWIHA's mission statement! I am passionate about Hypnotherapy because the benefits are limitless. Our subconscious is deep and has a limitless capacity and all the answers are inside us.”

Holidays Are Not Always Merry & Bright

Posted by KC Miller on 12/15/22 8:00 AM

This time of year, it’s easy to begin to recite unconscious, redundant holiday greetings such as Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, or Happy New Year. While a sincere sentiment might be your intention, could we just stop a minute and acknowledge those who aren’t feeling so merry and bright this season?

Holidays can be an emotional time of year for some, especially those who mark the holidays with anniversaries such as This is the first holiday without (insert loved one’s name)! Or, I cannot believe it’s been so many years that (loved one) hasn’t been here for the holidays.” Remembering and reminiscing are part of the grieving process.

Rather than skirt around the grief or try to act as if it’s not there, consider these thoughtful and compassionate HAPPY options:

Being a Highly Sensitive Person

Posted by Sherrie Perret on 12/8/22 4:00 PM

Have you ever been told that you are too sensitive, too touchy, that you take things too personally, or even that you are too nice to people? I hear these things on a daily basis and if you have been told these things, chances are you could be a Highly Sensitive Person too. We are all sensitive to some degree; however, some of us are HSP (Highly Sensitive Persons). I am HSP. What is HSP and how do you get it? This is what I have learned about HSP. First, let me clarify that HSP is not a disorder, condition, or diagnosis, it’s a personality trait also known as sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) and approximately 15% to 20% of the population are HSP. Highly Sensitive People process all information more deeply including all types of stimuli such as emotions, what they see, hear, feel, and touch and are aware of subtleties that other people miss.

From Chef to Health & Wellness Coach, Valerie Hahn Guides Others through Inner Transformations

Posted by Jade Marvin on 9/8/22 4:00 PM

What was your life like before SWIHA? What led you to SWIHA and to your particular program of study? Why are you passionate about this modality?

Before SWIHA, I was a Chef who worked long hours at a fine dining farm-to-table restaurant & was a hairstylist on the side. I love to cook and especially loved embracing the sustainability aspect of sourcing our ingredients and how everything connected full circle. Although I loved cooking, as many people know kitchens can be quite a challenging and sometimes toxic environment to be submerged in. At that point in my life, I was deeply depressed and longed to do something that felt more fulfilling to my soul. For me, this "cycle of depression" triggered an awakening of sorts. I began venturing my journey of "internal" personal development (outside my physical fitness) and sought out schools that spoke to my soul path. After studying myself and creating a boatload of interests, everything on my list pointed to holistic health and wellness. I discovered SWIHA at the beginning of my journey and finally answered the call to enroll 10 years later!
