Dare to Dream: Envisioning Life as a Holistic Entrepreneur

By definition, a dream is described as:
a series of thoughts, visions, or feelings that happen during sleep an idea or vision that is created in your imagination and that is not real something that you have wanted very much to do, be, or have for a long time

More often than not, each new day in our modern lives comes with an overwhelming number of responsibilities and duties that have to get done: work, school assignments, childcare, cooking, cleaning, doctor appointments... the list goes on and on!

Unfortunately, our contemporary fixation on being busy leaves very little room for dreaming. Whether we aspire to find a better job, meet the love of our life, be the first in our family to pursue a post-secondary education, or even to open our own business as a holistic entrepreneur, the reasons we all desire success are as numerous as the stars in the sky.

Many times, however, the stark reality of our current lives keeps us fixated on our fears, causing us to avoid our futures and to stop dreaming. Dreaming requires the intentional devotation of time to a vision of a better life and self; it is, in itself, part of the process of change.

To Heaven and Back To Serve as a Spiritual Minister

Posted by Ravynn Rohner on 11/25/16 10:20 AM

Cherie Lee grew up in Galveston Island, Texas with four siblings, three brothers and a sister. She was raised a Catholic and attended church every Sunday. She always believed in angels, God, Jesus, and Mother Mary, and loved to learn about Catholic traditions, prayers, and songs of worship. However, she was not sure if she really believed in the devil or a hell with fire. As I grew up, I tried to please my parents and do the right thing, although I had my moments of rebellion. “I was a good kid, growing up in a very dysfunctional family with an alcoholic step-dad who abused my eldest brother and me on a regular basis. My entire family was negative in nature, and I became the peacekeeper of the family. I became a person who always tried to help others, yet was full of my own negativity; I suffered from anxiety and depression at times. However I always had faith in God, and this is what pulled me through every terrible incident growing up.”

“The un-awakened mind tends to make war against the way things are.” - Jack Kornfield

You’ve probably heard some people say that dreams are random and mean nothing, yet is this really true?  Edgar Cayce, Sigmund Freud, and Carl Jung, leading experts in the field of psychoanalysis, all believed that there is an unconscious message or meaning in all dreams.

Having being called a “twentieth century psychic and medical clairvoyant,” Cayce (1877-1945) claimed that dreams connect us to the universal consciousness where we can discover our life purpose, find answers to our own medical conditions, and even tap into future events.

Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), an Austrian neurologist, is considered the “father of psychoanalysis”. He believed that dreams are forms of "wish fulfillment" and are attempts by the unconscious to resolve a past or present conflict.
