For Danielle Garcia, finding an educational program that honored both holistic healing and spirituality wasn’t easy. As a traveling medical assistant, her career required flexibility, and finding a school that could meet her needs while also speaking to her spiritual interests felt nearly impossible.
Then she discovered the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA).
As an Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner (IHAP) Online graduate, Danielle found an educational experience that aligned with her desire to understand healing from a holistic perspective—and gave her tools she could use to support her own transformation and to guide others on their journeys as well.
Finding a Holistic Path That Felt Right
Before SWIHA, Danielle describes her life as chaotic. Traveling for work made finding the right school even more challenging, and many of the programs she explored were missing an important piece: the spiritual side of healing.
“As an Empath, I felt right at home when I came across SWIHA’s Instagram page,” Danielle shared. “The layout and course material were exactly what I was looking for.”
That sense of connection became the beginning of a transformational chapter.
Danielle entered the IHAP Online program with a passion for helping others through a holistic approach. Throughout her education, that passion continued to grow, fueled by the knowledge and experiences she gained along the way.
When Everything Began to Fall Into Place
For Danielle, there wasn't one single moment when she realized she was on the right path. Instead, the transformation began almost immediately.
“I knew immediately!! Each class led to profound healing and transformation. Everything began to fall into place for me. My stars were aligning.”
Course by course, Danielle found herself learning more about holistic healing while also turning inward and experiencing her own growth. Her SWIHA education became more than professional preparation—it became part of her personal healing journey.
The result was profound.
“My life has significantly changed for the better. Not only did I heal myself, I also got to help and guide others in their journey as well. I went from surviving to thriving!!!”
Blending Intuitive Coaching and Yoga Nidra
Today, Danielle continues to work full time as a traveling medical assistant while building her own holistic practice and seeing clients on the weekends.
Her work focuses on two powerful modalities: Intuitive Coaching and Yoga Nidra, offered both virtually and in person.
Danielle's approach brings these modalities together to create a supportive space for personal transformation. By blending Yoga Nidra with intuitive coaching, she helps clients explore patterns, reconnect with themselves, and cultivate greater awareness.
“This approach helps rewire their nervous system to collapse old patterns and accelerate personal transformation,” she explains.
Her SWIHA education has helped her bring together the intuitive, spiritual, and mind-body aspects of her work in a way that reflects her passion for holistic healing.
Discovering Her Own Inner Strength
One of Danielle's greatest lessons from SWIHA wasn't simply about a particular modality or technique. It was about herself.
“My greatest lesson I learned while in SWIHA is my inner strength. Through all life challenges, GRIT, resilience, and God is what got me here today.”
That resilience continues to shape her personal and professional journey as she invests in her business while continuing to live life to the fullest.
Her story is a powerful reminder that becoming a practitioner can be deeply personal. The process of learning how to support others can also create opportunities to better understand, heal, and strengthen ourselves.
Learning from Teachers Who Challenge You to Grow
Throughout her time at SWIHA, Danielle found inspiration from many of her instructors and fellow students. One teacher who made a particularly lasting impression was Rachel Astarte.
“Rachel Astarte was the most impactful teacher while at SWIHA. She pushed me and challenged me to think outside of the box.”
Danielle's favorite courses reflected the broad, integrative nature of her educational experience, including:
- - Foundations of Intuitive Coaching
- - Energetic Healing for Spiritual Guides
- - Yoga Nidra I, II & III
- - Entrepreneur's Journey
- - Somatic Psychology
- - Grounded Spirituality
- - Modern Mysticism
Together, these areas of study helped Danielle develop a diverse toolkit for her work and deepen her understanding of herself as a holistic practitioner.
Her Advice to Future SWIHA Students
Looking back on her experience, Danielle encourages future students to believe in themselves—even when the path becomes uncomfortable.
“Believe in yourself. You’re stronger than you think. Push past the uncomfortable and dig deep when it gets hard. You got this!!!”
Her own journey is proof of that message. Balancing a demanding career, education, personal growth, and the early stages of building a business required dedication and resilience.
Today, Danielle is continuing to build on everything she learned at SWIHA while developing her practice and expanding her ability to serve others.
A Journey That Continues
Graduation may mark the end of a program; however, for Danielle, it is only the beginning of a new chapter.
She is continuing to grow her intuitive coaching and Yoga Nidra practice, invest in her business, and explore ways to reach and support more clients. She is also embracing the next phase of her professional journey with the same grit and determination that brought her to SWIHA in the first place.
Her story demonstrates the power of finding an educational path that honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
And perhaps most importantly, Danielle's journey shows how the desire to help others can begin with a willingness to do our own healing work first.
From chaos to clarity, from surviving to thriving, Danielle has created a path that allows her to continue learning, growing, and guiding others along the way.
