Sarah Whiton tends to take her interests, passions, and hobbies and turn them into careers. Constantly evolving and developing new skills, she recognizes that her life has been a path that has taken several different directions, each one a step forward into the successful career she has today.

Sarah has been working in the Health and Fitness Industry as a Certified Personal Trainer for a several years. The focus of her work is to inspire women to make peace with their body-image, to embrace every unique inch of themselves, to find self-awareness, and ultimately to discover self-love. Describing why she is so passionate about her work, Sarah says, “What I have loved the most about this job all along is the opportunity I have to inspire and encourage others. It’s not only listening to people, it’s holding space for them, being the person they feel they can come to, and being a source of positive energy.”

This passion lead Sarah to discover the Life Coaching program at SWIHA. The 2017 graduate learned through the program how to dig deep and get real with herself, giving her the tools she needed to break through her own obstacles. “It was a monumental step in learning to know myself,” she shared, “shedding layers and unearthing the true being that is ME!”

Sarah-Whiton-SWIHA-Great-Graduate-Life-Coach-2.jpgThinking back on the program, Sarah remembers her experiences with one of her teachers, Laura Barnes: “Laura’s ability to ask the really deep questions, get to the heart of the matter, and lead with her incredibly positive spirit continues to motivate and inspire me even after I finished my program.” Through those questions and the time she spent sitting with them and letting them work deep into her soul, she learned to appreciate her strengths AND her weaknesses because she realized it is the combination of those things that make her who she is! I gained the courage to accept who I am – on every level,” she says, “and I continue to return to this lesson when I need to remember and lean into my strengths, and when I need to either challenge or accept my weaknesses.”

These questions, and the lessons she has learned from them, are helping her along her next journey into entrepreneurship. “I’ve always had the dream of owning my own business in some capacity, and I am excited to be pursuing that endeavor,” says Sarah. The work she did during her classes at SWIHA wasn’t just homework, it was LIFE work, and it continues to be useful in shaping her practice. “I return to materials from my life coaching class for tools in my sessions and for inspiration, and I’m always able to find support in the SWIHA community as well!”

As she works to build her life coaching practice, she continues to work as personal trainer who focuses on and encourages health at any size. She strives to spread messages of body positivity on her social media pages, blog, and through an Intuitive Eating Discussion Group that she organizes weekly. On her webpage, you can get in touch with her to book sessions and keep up to date with the events and discussions groups she hosts. The following quote is on her “About” page, which truly describes her energy and her beautiful message: “Every woman is the unique representation of her inner beauty; recognize that light within, and start living it!”

Sarah-Whiton-SWIHA-Great-Graduate-Life-Coach-3.jpgIn her personal life, Sarah continues to move forward in her own journey and spends as much time as possible doing what brings her joy. She has done an excellent job in finding that delicate balance of working hard and enjoying life. When not working hard to build her life coaching and fitness business, you can find her playing hard at one of her hobbies, like hiking, camping, swimming, yoga, cooking, laughing, and spending time with her husband.

Although she has finished her program at SWIHA, she still carries the lessons and community she found there with her, and she revisits them constantly as she continues to move forward. Sarah shares, “My time at SWIHA was as transformational on a personal level as it was on a professional one. There is no better place to find self-transformation than the incredibly positive, supportive and loving environment that SWIHA offers. It truly is a journey. Sometimes I still have to stop and remind myself of that. I didn’t get to where I am overnight, and I won’t get to where I want to be overnight either. It takes time, it takes patience, and sometimes the path takes many directions!”
