When Taryn Ravi Sadesh first stepped onto the campus of the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) in 2011, she was a recent high school graduate with a vision — one rooted in healing, service, and deep spiritual connection. Today, Taryn is a thriving holistic wellness practitioner and founder of Holistic Wellness Sedona, guiding others through transformative journeys with the wisdom, tools, and heart-centered leadership she has cultivated over the past decade.

Following the Signs of Purpose

Before discovering SWIHA, Taryn found herself at a crossroads, unsure whether her path would lead her to music, veterinary medicine, or something less conventional yet deeply aligned with her soul — holistic wellness. That clarity came the moment she walked through SWIHA’s doors. As if guided by the universe, Taryn recalls stepping outside during her initial campus visit and finding cash on the sidewalk — a sign she took as a powerful affirmation to begin her journey.

She enrolled in the Massage Therapy 750-hour program, specializing in Aromatherapy and Reiki, and never looked back. Over the years, she continued to expand her toolkit through CEUs in breast health, cranial sacral therapy, polarity, and more. In January 2024, Taryn once again said “yes” to growth, enrolling in the online Holistic Health and Wellness Coaching program, with graduation on the horizon in May 2025.

A Life Transformed by Healing

Taryn’s time at SWIHA has shaped her professional path and her personal evolution. The curriculum, combined with real-life experiences, has helped her navigate physical challenges and emotional healing, empowering her to become the guide she once wished for in her own journey.

Health and wellness have been factors in my life that I’ve needed to cultivate from a very young age,” she shares. “I strive to be the support for others on their health journey because I’ve lived and learned along this path.”

One of her most defining moments remains that very first day at SWIHA — the day she received the vision of supporting others through bodywork, energy and sound healing, holistic nutrition, and embodied movement in beautiful, nourishing environments. That vision still fuels her work today.

Coaching, Connection, and Community

As part of her current coaching program, Taryn has been inspired to bring more healing to her local Sedona community. She recently launched a recurring hike and share circle, offering a safe space for connection, movement, and mindful conversation among those seeking holistic support.

Her professional services within her business Holistic Wellness Sedona now include retreats, in-home sessions, and mobile offerings in Sedona and Scottsdale, ranging from intuitive massage and energy healing to yoga, belly dance, and wellness coaching. With an eye toward global impact, she envisions expanding into international retreats, co-creating powerful healing spaces in nature with a network of like-minded practitioners.

Lessons, Gratitude, and Growth

Throughout her time at SWIHA, Taryn has learned to embrace both the challenges and breakthroughs that come with deep personal work. “The greatest lesson is understanding the value of shedding what no longer serves me and aligning with my values,” she reflects. “The tools I’ve learned are lifelong resources that will continue to evolve as I do.”

Taryn credits several impactful teachers for shaping her path, including Susanne Thomas, who pushed her to expand through challenge; Dee McCaffrey, whose constructive feedback refined her growth; Lori Dye, who offered relatable and thoughtful insights; and Jacquie Leone, a powerful force of knowledge and inspiration.

Advice to Future Students: Embrace the Unfolding

To future SWIHA students, Taryn offers this heartfelt wisdom:

There will be discovering, unraveling, dismantling, and reevaluating — some painful, all powerful. Growth isn’t linear. It’s the unfolding of your life’s purpose. Give yourself grace. Know that SWIHA and your classmates are here to support you. What you’re learning is not just education, it’s transformation.”

Are you ready to answer the call? Just like Taryn, it all begins with saying “yes” to yourself — and to the future you're ready to create.
