Healing journeys rarely begin in perfect circumstances. More often, they start in moments when life asks us to rebuild, rediscover ourselves, and choose a new path forward. For Sabrina Kampmeier, that path led her to Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), where she transformed her own experiences of healing into a calling to support others through spiritual guidance, Reiki, and botanical ceremony work.

After graduating from SWIHA’s Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program, with a concentration in Spiritual Studies and Healing Botanical Ceremonies, Sabrina now blends her life experiences, spiritual training, and heart-centered approach to support clients on their own healing journeys.

A Turning Point Toward Healing

Before coming to SWIHA, Sabrina was navigating a challenging chapter of her life.

She shares, “Before SWIHA, I was healing myself from an abusive partner.” During that time, she returned to her roots in the beauty industry, completing her teaching certificate in cosmetology. While she enjoyed helping people look their best, she felt a deeper calling beginning to emerge.

“It felt natural to move away from helping people look good to showing them how to feel good within.”

For years, Sabrina had explored different healing tools and modalities. Yet when she found SWIHA, something clicked. The program didn’t just introduce her to new practices—it strengthened the wisdom she already carried.

“I had, for many years, dipped my toe in many healing tools, and SWIHA not only added to the box, it also strengthened the ones I already knew.”

A Moment of Knowing

Sometimes the path becomes clear through a simple yet powerful moment.

For Sabrina, that moment came after a session with a local Reiki master who offered her a healing session free of charge. After the experience, Sabrina shared something that had been quietly forming in her heart.

“I told her, ‘I think I'm here to help others heal.’”

The Reiki master responded with words that stayed with her.

“It wasn't so much of a think as it was a knowing.”

Sabrina describes the moment as dreamlike—yet grounding at the same time. It was the confirmation she needed that she was stepping onto the right path.

Transformation Through the Journey

Since that moment, Sabrina’s life has continued to evolve.

“Yes, since that moment, my life has continued to change,” she explains. “Even steps backwards at times seem to propel me forward.”

Like many healing practitioners, Sabrina understands that transformation isn’t always linear. Growth often includes periods of challenge that ultimately lead to deeper resilience and clarity.

Creating a Space for Healing

Today, Sabrina is building her healing practice from a space she rents inside a local salon. She is currently focused on creating awareness about her work while continuing to grow her online presence.

Professionally, Sabrina draws from over 20 years of experience running her own business. Her work centers on creating safe, supportive environments where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Through her practice, she offers a variety of healing modalities, including:

She also creates custom wellness products for clients, including:

  • - Dream pillows
  • - Essential oil blends
  • - Personalized herbal teas

Each offering is thoughtfully designed to meet clients where they are on their healing journey.

The Lessons That Build Confidence

For Sabrina, one of the most powerful lessons she learned during her time at SWIHA was about courage and self-belief.

“The greatest lesson learned at SWIHA is that anything is possible if you try.”

She remembers feeling nervous before enrolling in the program.

“I remember the feeling before I was fully enrolled—it was scary.”

However, stepping through that fear changed everything.

“Now looking back, I can see how pushing the fear aside has made my confidence soar.”

Her favorite classes—Healing Botanicals and Yoga Nidra—continue to influence her work with clients today.

Advice for Future SWIHA Students

When asked what advice she would offer future SWIHA students, Sabrina keeps it simple and powerful:

“Believe in yourself. You have so much light to share with the world that is only possible from you. Your unique light, like no other.”

It’s a message rooted in her own experience—one of resilience, courage, and transformation.

Writing a New Story

Sabrina’s story is one of survival, growth, and empowerment.

“My story has been one of many battles that lead to transformation,” she shares. “I now write my story to inspire and give hope to those who feel lost or hopeless.”

Rather than wishing away the challenges she faced, she now sees them as the foundation that helped shape who she is today.

“The bricks thrown at me gave me the foundation I've built and the person you and I see in front of us. I love her! I'm proud of her. I am her!”

Through her work, Sabrina continues to turn her personal journey into a source of healing and hope for others.
