As an alumni, I wanted to share a response of mine that I gave in a recent interview. The question was “Why did you choose transformational life coaching at SWIHA?” Here is my response, “Thank you for your thoughtful question. My journey toward the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and to transformational life coaching was not a straight path, it was a winding road, full of learning experiences, self-discovery, and a deepening of my faith.”

You see, as an Old Catholic Priest and Franciscan, I have been blessed to walk alongside many individuals on their spiritual journeys. My training in psychology and pastoral counseling has given me the tools to be a supportive listener, a compassionate guide, and a source of solace during difficult times. Yet, throughout my years of service, I've come to see that there is always more to learn when it comes to helping others navigate their paths toward healing, growth, and understanding.

While my formal education certainly provided a strong foundation for understanding human behavior, cognition, and emotion, I felt a calling to delve deeper into the spiritual aspects of healing. I wanted to move beyond the traditional framework of psychology and pastoral care to incorporate more holistic and integrative practices into my work.

The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts offered this opportunity. Their transformational life coaching program integrates traditional psychological theories with spiritual and holistic wellness practices, such as mindfulness and energy healing. The program's emphasis on personal transformation through self-awareness and self-empowerment resonated with me deeply. I believe in the power of transformation – of the mind, spirit, heart, and soul.

My choice was also influenced by the understanding that healing is not merely about the absence of pain or suffering, it is about a journey toward wholeness, fulfillment, and understanding of one's true self. This aligns with my belief that our spiritual journeys aren't just about religious observance, they are about becoming our most authentic selves in relation to God and to others.

By studying transformational life coaching at SWIHA, I believe I can better serve those in my care by offering them a broader array of tools and strategies for navigating their lives. This pursuit is not about abandoning my roots in psychology or pastoral care, it is about adding another layer to my ability to facilitate healing and growth in those I'm privileged to serve.

I hope this provides some insight into my decision. It's been a journey led by my faith, my passion for helping others, and my desire to continuously learn and grow in my practice. Thank you for your interest and for allowing me to share a part of my journey with you.

That’s what makes up SWIHA. We come from all walks of life to accomplish very similar goals.
