Are you feeling ready for a change? Do you desire to positively influence the lives of others? If lifelong learning, human connection and steady employment are appealing to you, you may be perfect for a career in Massage Therapy.

In just eleven months, you could be on your way to a fun and fulfilling career through our Massage Therapy program, beginning on March 1st (AM schedule) and April 5th (PM schedule). Southwest Institute of Healing Arts offers the flexibility to choose what works best for YOU, with a wide range of electives and diverse scheduling options.

We have employers regularly asking us when we’re graduating more Massage Therapists, so today we'll be taking a close look at the wellness industry and how Massage Therapists have managed to keep themselves on their feet during the events of the last year.

Massage is Adaptable

Southwest Institute of Healing Arts has an on-campus Massage Clinic, and we gained firsthand experience in adopting safety standards that ensure the health of our Massage Therapists and clientele in 2020 and beyond, including:

  • Personal protective equipment and Plexiglas panels

  • Increased sanitization protocols

  • Screening of employees, students and campus visitors

  • Daily cleanings of all public-facing and high traffic surfaces

  • Adequate space in waiting areas and time between appointments

Spas and Massage Therapy offices are currently open under the guidance of the Arizona Department of Health and CDC Guidelines. 93% of qualified Massage Therapists were employed in the Phoenix metro area in 2020 with a mean wage of $45,410 , according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Our classroom experience has also been adapted for our Massage Therapy students to include more distanced classrooms, conscious pairings for partnered activities, and keeping with current CDC safety standards for staff, faculty and students.

Massage Therapists are In Demand

Wellness is on the forefront of our minds, now more than ever. Massage Therapy has long been proven to be an effective tool for relaxation, increased immune response, mental well-being and often a great compliment to conventional care for many medical conditions.

As mentioned above in the blog, we at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts field inquires regularly about our projected Massage Therapy graduates. We have close partnerships with many employers around Arizona and national spa chains. They want to employ you!

As of the date of publication of this blog:
