Coaching Women to Embrace Their Power Within

Posted by Kerry Burki on 1/27/17 10:00 AM

Sharon Rose originally came to Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) for Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), thinking she would only train 200 hours. She quickly realized that it was not enough and joined the 800-hour YTT program, chose Yoga Nidra & Holistic Nutrition as her specialties. While working at a yoga studio during her schooling, she became good friends with one of the instructors. Once, when Sharon was helping her friend work on her resume and Instagram account, her friend turned and looked at her and said, ""You know, you should be a life coach", to which I quickly responded with, ‘What on earth is a life coach?’"

From there, the Universe didn’t hold back. All of the sudden Sharon was in two Mastermind groups on Facebook and being contacted by coaches. It didn’t take long for her to look into SWIHA a bit more and find out that life coaching was an option for her. “I paused my Yoga Nidra training and picked up my coaching certification. I haven’t looked back since. I have been coaching since June 2016 but am excited to say that I have officially just launched my signature programs and brand in November.”

When it comes to the tools and worksheets that the coaches use Sharon exclaims that, “The Wheel of Balance is my jam. I believe it is a great starting point when working with a client. It allows both of us to get a good picture of where they are at and set a solid intention for our sessions. I used The Wheel as the foundation to building my three signature programs and continue to evolve it as my business grows.”

Now Sharon works one-on-one with clients and also hosts group coaching events. She primarily works with women of all ages, who are ready to really step into their power. These women are on the fence of breakthrough, just looking for that extra clarity and assurance that they can do it. Some just need a little nudge, and some want to take an extensive look at their life. “It’s a beautiful dynamic, and I learn so much from these women.”

At some point over the past year and a half, Sharon shared that the Universe talks, enters into her brainwaves, and reminds her every day of this little saying:

Thoughts become things. Choose the good ones” -- Mike Dooley

It has been imprinted on some subconscious level because anytime she starts to think something negative, this pops into her head. It’s a simple, quick and easy reminder to bring her back to a place of love. Sharon wants potential life coaching students to know that they can look forward to a deeply rooted transformation of their soul and outlook on life, IF they are ready and willing to surrender to the power of coaching and spirit.

100% bringing light to someone else’s day is what keeps Sharon going with this work. “I know on a very deep level what it is like to feel abandoned and like nobody's listening, so if my Facebook, Instagram, coaching, or videos of my cat can bring a smile or release some stress for even a minute of someone’s day, I’m here and will always be here to supply that.”

Sharon believes that the entrepreneurial support center and teachers at SWIHA are incredible. “Will Zecco took my frazzled, over-anxious brain and set me on a clear, straight path in one 40 minute meeting. It took a few months of soul searching & hard work, but when I arrived at the second meeting, I had a clear business plan and was ready to set up my LLC.” For yogis, the Business of Yoga class was invaluable in learning the basics and allowed her to dive deeper into the areas she needed guidance on. The teachers are all so helpful and reassuring in answering questions and helping to relax the nerves of starting a new business. “I am extremely grateful to have such an amazing tribe of people who are genuinely around just to help you succeed.”
