Answering the Call: SWIHA Student Jacqueline Colvin’s Journey into Spiritual Coaching

Posted by Jacqueline Colvin on 7/21/25 8:00 AM

I came to spiritual coaching not through a textbook or a plan—rather, through an experience that awakened something deep within me. While working as a massage therapist at a yoga retreat, I found myself surrounded by healing energy. I received Reiki sessions, participated in guided meditations, and experienced powerful hypnotherapy sessions. I didn’t know it at the time, however, something inside me was shifting. I felt myself opening, softening, and connecting more deeply with parts of myself I hadn’t accessed in years.

That experience became a turning point. I realized how much I—and so many others—were wanting and needing something more: not more to do—rather more being, more presence, more meaning. That’s what eventually led me to spiritual coaching.

Spiritual coaching is different from traditional coaching. It’s not about pushing yourself to achieve more or checking off goals. It’s about coming home to yourself. It’s about slowing down and listening—to your heart, to your body, to your inner self. It’s about asking the big questions:

Who am I, really?
Why am I here?
What would it feel like to live in alignment with my truth?

Spiritual coaching holds space for those questions. It helps you peel back the layers of expectations, stress, and self-doubt, and reconnect with the part of you that has always known the way.

What I love most about this work is that it meets you exactly where you are. You don’t have to identify with any specific belief system or have a spiritual practice. Whether you’re feeling lost, navigating a life transition, or simply longing to feel more connected, spiritual coaching offers a grounded, heart-centered space for you to explore your inner world.

It’s not about fixing you. It’s about remembering who you are beneath all that you have going on in life and reconnecting with your own inner guidance. And a Spiritual Coach is not there to lead you, they are there to be by your side as you find your own way.

Spiritual Coaching Sessions may include practices like:

  • Deep, reflective conversations
  • Meditation and guided visualization
  • Energy awareness and Reiki healing
  • Journaling and inner inquiry
  • Quiet moments of stillness and presence

Each session is unique, just like you. Sometimes clarity comes through a question, sometimes through silence. Sometimes it’s a gentle nudge from within that changes everything.

While spiritual coaching is rooted in inner transformation, the insights you gain often lead outward into your life. I am looking to help clients find the courage to make career changes, deepen relationships, speak their truth more freely, or simply start living with more peace and intention.

These shifts come not from forcing or striving, they come from aligning. From remembering. From trusting yourself enough to follow what feels true.

What surprised me most in my own journey—and what I now hold sacred in my sessions—is the healing power of simply being seen and heard. In a world that often rushes us along, offering a space of presence and compassion can be deeply transformative. Sometimes, just knowing someone is fully there with you, without judgment or expectation, is enough to spark a breakthrough.

Spiritual coaching is not a formula or a quick fix. It’s a sacred unfolding. It’s a space to breathe, reflect, feel, and grow. It’s for anyone who’s ready to go deeper—to live with more clarity, purpose, and self-trust.

If you’re feeling called to reconnect with yourself, to listen more deeply to your heart, and to explore what truly matters to you, I would be honored to hold that space with you.
