From Corporate Life to Health and Wellness Coach: A Journey of Self-Fulfillment for Kenneth Federowicz

At the age of 10, Kenneth visited Disney with his family, and immediately fell in love with the concept of serving others with the goal of always making people happy. Ever since, Kenneth has had a deep passion for helping others. Fast forward to adulthood, Kenneth found himself leaving his career in upper management hotel restaurant hospitality and launching his own business as a personal chef!

Through the events of 2020, Kenneth recognized the widened gap of many people struggling to eat healthily, take care of their families and obtain the necessary support required. Although he was offering weekly meal prep, among other services, Kenneth wanted to offer more to his clients. Kenneth states, “When I saw the advertisements for SWIHA it seemed a perfect fit. I was trying to restart the connection lost threw the pandemic with my clients and their friends and family.

Kenneth enrolled in the Online Holistic Health and Wellness Coach Diploma program. Having a background in nutrition and food prep already, bridging the gap of offering coaching to his clientele seemed like the perfect way to expand his offerings. Having a holistic approach to health is very important!

While reflecting back on his time during his online program, a defining moment Kenneth recalls is, “It was at the beginning of the program when we were reading ‘In Defense of Food’. I was shocked at the information about our governments' involvement with food, farmers, western medicine, etc... I knew at this point I needed to be a voice for the people who did not get the education I was receiving.” Kenneth always had the mindset of ‘what can he do for others’.

Being in an online program can come with its own list of pros and cons, however, through this experience, Kenneth was able to overcome technological challenges, and now even considers himself to be proficient in many different platforms! Kenneth elaborates, “I am now proficient on many different platforms of social media, computer usage, zoom, etc... At first, I thought I’d never pull this off just because my computer skills were awful. I have met a few lifetime friends here while in school. Proving that connection is coming back.” With SWIHA online programs, community and connection are really encouraged by utilizing discussion boards and more with your fellow classmates, instructors, and advisors!

Now having completed his program, Kenneth is focusing on his business and it is booming more than ever! Kenneth shares, “I’ve hired some employees to assist so that I may take on new clients. I am also an Abstract Artist and I have been working on Gallery submissions and selling a few pieces.”

I was inspired to start my own business for several reasons. After relocating to Atlanta from Miami due to a tragic house fire where I lost everything, I knew it was a changing time - a major shift for me. The first two jobs I landed were not what I was supposed to be doing. The fire was all too fresh in my mind; I knew I had to help people to free myself from the bondage I felt from that major incident. It wasn't until I started my own journey did I feel some sense of freedom. I offer Private Chef Services for families and individuals. I also cater small intimate events and full-service planning, focusing on healthy foods. All of my clients have hired me for my cooking skill and nutrition knowledge. What I have learned at SWIHA has just upped my game. I have had clients with Stage 4 cancer, Type 2 diabetes, and eating disorders and it is remarkable to see positive changes in their lives. This is what fuels me.”
