Sometimes the most transformative journeys begin not with certainty, instead emerging from a quiet sense that something more is waiting. For Seyoni Smith, that inner knowing surfaced during a season of transition—one that ultimately led her to Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) and the completion of the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner Program.
Before SWIHA, Seyoni was working a traditional 9–5 job after taking a gap year from college—one she never returned from because full-time work became a necessity. During that period, she found herself navigating her own spiritual awakening alongside mental health challenges. While she was doing what was expected, fulfillment remained out of reach. She recalls knowing, deep down, that “there was something more waiting for me, both spiritually and physically.”
Although the idea of returning to school brought uncertainty, the opportunity to enroll at SWIHA arrived with a sense of divine timing. What might have looked like a coincidence from the outside felt much deeper to Seyoni—“a soul-level calling that aligned with what I needed.” Despite her nerves, she chose to listen.
That choice became a defining moment. After months of hesitation, officially enrolling in the program marked the beginning of a new chapter—one rooted in trust. For Seyoni, it was “an invitation to trust myself and my inner guidance.” As her studies unfolded, she began to notice a powerful synchronicity between her coursework and her lived experiences. The lessons weren’t just theoretical; they reflected her own life back to her. That mirroring brought clarity and grounding, affirming that she was “exactly where I needed to be.”
Completing the Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner program led to profound internal shifts. Seyoni describes gaining “a deeper understanding of myself and what I’m meant to be doing in my life,” along with a stronger sense of self-awareness, intention, and compassion. Rather than striving or forcing outcomes, she learned how to move through life with greater presence and confidence in her growth process. Today, she feels more aligned and grounded than ever before.
Professionally, Seyoni continues her studies at SWIHA through 2026 while intentionally building her online spiritual coaching business, The Awakened Root. Inspired by her own healing journey and what she’s learned through integrative practice, she created the space to support others reconnecting with themselves through soul remembrance. Her intention is to offer a virtual environment that honors individuality, growth, and self-trust—“a supportive and intentional space for healing,” shaped by both education and lived experience.
One of the most impactful lessons Seyoni carries forward from SWIHA is the importance of embodiment. Healing, she learned, is not about collecting information—it’s about integration. “Healing is not just about understanding concepts; it’s living them consistently,” she shares. Alongside embodiment, she found deep value in self-reflection and discernment, learning to slow down and honor the process rather than rushing toward results. These teachings helped her cultivate a more grounded and compassionate relationship with herself.
Seyoni also credits SWIHA’s instructors and teaching style for making her learning experience both meaningful and accessible. She was especially impacted by educators who emphasized ethical practice, integration, and self-awareness, and she appreciated the supportive, reflective approach that made learning feel expansive rather than rigid. Classes focused on healing modalities, entrepreneurship, and holistic teachings allowed her to bridge inner work with real-world application.
For future SWIHA students, Seyoni offers gentle yet powerful guidance: trust your timing. She encourages students not to compare their path to anyone else’s and to allow space for integration along the way. Growth, she reminds us, doesn’t happen only in the classroom—it unfolds in daily life, in reflection, and in patience with oneself. “Let the experience meet you where you are,” she says, and trust the process from there.
At the heart of Seyoni’s journey is a commitment to conscious growth, self-awareness, and compassion. Through writing, reflection, and creative expression, she continues to process and share her experiences while supporting others in feeling more aligned and self-trusting. She views this work not as a destination; rather as a lifelong path of integration and learning—one rooted in intention, intuition, and trust.
