For 25 years, Delana Gosa built her career in conventional healthcare, working in medical billing and healthcare administration. While her career provided stability and valuable insight into the healthcare system, Delana eventually felt called toward a different kind of work—one centered on mindfulness, personal transformation, spiritual growth, and helping others reconnect with their own inner wisdom.
That calling led her to Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), where she enrolled in the Holistic Health and Wellness Coaching program, specializing in Holistic Nutrition.
Now having recently graduated, Delana is taking what she has learned at SWIHA and turning it into a private practice designed to help clients explore the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping them from living authentically.
Before SWIHA, Delana spent decades immersed in the traditional healthcare environment. Over time, she began questioning whether conventional approaches always addressed the deeper factors influencing a person's overall well-being.
Her own personal evolution became an important part of that questioning.
“I was navigating my own deep spiral of ascension and learning how to dismantle the false self-constructs that keep so many of us bound to outside control,” Delana explains.
This exploration eventually brought her to mindfulness meditation and spiritual life coaching.
For Delana, mindfulness became more than a way to manage everyday stress. She discovered it as a practice for becoming more aware of conditioning, developing greater self-awareness, grounding in the present moment, and reconnecting with one's internal sense of authority.
That perspective became central to the work she hopes to offer others.
Delana's defining moment came as she began recognizing connections between the physical body, emotional expression, personal truth, and the ways people sometimes suppress their authentic voices.
She describes noticing how people can become conditioned to stay small, accommodate familial patterns, or look outside themselves for validation and direction. As she explored these ideas through her own journey, she began seeing how her life experiences could become part of the wisdom she offers others.
“I knew without a doubt that I was on the right path when I started utilizing my innate gifts to help others unpack the lies they had been blinded to,” she shares.
For Delana, helping someone discover a new perspective within a difficult experience became a powerful confirmation that she was moving toward the work she was meant to do.
Transitioning away from a 25-year career in corporate medical administration was not simply a professional change for Delana—it represented a deeper shift in how she approached her life. Today, she describes herself as living with greater intention, conscious awareness, somatic grounding, and trust in her own inner authority.
She is also embracing the challenge of becoming more visible as a spiritual leader and entrepreneur. Her goal is not simply to pursue a new career, rather to model authenticity and self-trust for her children and grandchildren.
“My daily rhythm is now dictated by conscious awareness, somatic grounding, and the continuous integration of my own lived experiences,” Delana says.
Today, Delana is building Delana Gosa LLC, with her coaching practice operating under the name Heal More Humans.
As a Holistic Entrepreneur specializing in Mindfulness Meditation, she plans to offer one-on-one coaching and educational content designed for people who are ready to take a deeper look at the patterns shaping their lives. Her work focuses on topics including mindfulness, stress patterns, personal conditioning, family patterns, self-awareness, and reclaiming one's voice.
“I saw a massive gap in the wellness industry, which often teaches people how to tolerate their cages rather than how to break free from them entirely,” Delana explains.
Through Heal More Humans, she hopes to create a space where clients can examine those patterns and explore new possibilities for how they relate to themselves and their lives. She is currently preparing her curriculum and signature offerings while developing her website, blog, educational materials, videos, and digital media presence.
One of the most valuable aspects of Delana's SWIHA experience has been learning how to translate her passion into a professional practice. The business and marketing coursework introduced her to blogging, digital content, website development, and other practical tools for reaching an audience. Rather than waiting until her business officially launched, Delana used her coursework as an opportunity to begin building the foundation of her future practice.
“The business curriculum required the creation of a website, so I used that opportunity to build out my entire website template before I actually went live with my launch,” she says.
Assignments involving health brochures, menus, wellness videos, and other marketing materials also became opportunities for her to begin creating the professional resources she plans to use with future clients.
Her experience demonstrates an important lesson for aspiring wellness entrepreneurs: your education can become the foundation of your business long before you officially open your doors.
Several SWIHA courses made a lasting impression on Delana.
She especially appreciated her Whole Food Nutrition classes with Dee, whose passion for cooking and nutrition helped inspire Delana to continue researching and learning about her own relationship with food and wellness. Her mindfulness meditation classes were equally transformative.
Through those classes, Delana developed a deeper appreciation for the practical process of guiding another person through meditation. She learned about the stages of meditation and began incorporating what she learned into her own meditative recordings. She also credits Lori Dye, one of her coaching instructors, with making a significant impact through a direct coaching style that resonated with her.
While Delana brought her own deeply spiritual perspective to her education, she found that SWIHA's coursework gave her opportunities to refine how she communicates and delivers her gifts.
For Delana, one of the most important parts of her journey has been learning to become more comfortable being heard.
She has worked with a SWIHA Success Coach throughout her program, focusing on assertive communication and moving beyond the fear of how others might perceive her message.
That support has helped her practice expressing herself more confidently while remaining grounded in her own intentions.
Her experience highlights an important part of building a holistic career: education is only one part of the journey. Learning how to communicate your message, establish your presence, and step confidently into your professional identity can be just as important.
If Delana could offer advice to students beginning their own SWIHA journey, she would encourage them to resist comparison and trust the unique perspective they bring to their work.
“Stop looking outside of yourself for validation and trust the unique frequency of the medicine you came to bring,” she says.
She encourages students not to feel pressured to fit their talents into a predetermined professional mold. Your lived experience, perspective, and authentic voice can become important parts of the way you serve others.
Delana also reminds students that beginnings do not have to be perfect.
“Treat your first drafts and your initial business steps with kindness,” she advises.
As Delana approaches graduation, she is preparing to take the next step in her professional journey. She is developing her Heal More Humans curriculum, preparing her signature offerings, creating educational content, and exploring collaborations with other holistic health practitioners.
She is also continuing to write and share spiritual messages while enjoying life in the Phoenix area with her family and her dog, Bubba. Her journey from a 25-year career in medical administration to building an independent holistic coaching practice is a reminder that professional transformation can happen at any stage of life.
For Delana, the next chapter is about creating a wellness practice rooted in mindfulness, self-awareness, authenticity, and personal empowerment—and sharing what she has learned along the way.
